Marriage of convenience and a professional female soccer player!?! Sign me up! And I did lol. I’ve been a fan of the USWNT for years and recently got very into the NWSL (Go Gotham FC). So I’ve bene looking for romances about women’s soccer. Erika is a NWSL and national team soccer player recently diagnosed with RA and she needs private health insurance to keep that secret and from affecting her career. She runs into Nate a bar and they instantly connect. He’s a wealthy tech ex and wants to fulfil his dying grandmother’s wish to see him married. Thus begins a marriage of convenience between the two. I really liked that everything was planned out between them and how they would conduct their marriage. Which quickly fell apart as their attraction to each other became too strong to ignore! There were scenes in this book that made me cry and scenes that made me chuckle out loud and I even let out a dreamy sigh or two. Everything from the soccer scenes to the poker nights with Nate and his best friends made this such a strong story. And I loved the end where everyone around them realized they were in love before they actually did. The attraction between Nate and Ericka was steamy and it paired well with their growing relationship of respect and love. This was the first book I read by Liz Lincoln but it won’t be the last!
