Description:
She’s got a billionaire boyfriend, but life is far from perfect…
Thirty-four and divorced, Sierra Wu is a constant disappointment to her family. They approved of her former career as an engineer but were horrified when she quit to run a small greeting card store.
So, the last thing she expected in her not-so-spectacular life was being swept off her feet by Colton Sanders. Yes, that Colton Sanders, the billionaire. They’ve been together for a year, and despite his reputation with women, it’s going well.
There’s only one tiny problem: Jake Tong.
A former friend and employee of Colton, the irritatingly handsome Jake tells Sierra to break up with Colton for her own good. She refuses, of course. Why should she trust Jake?
But as she continues to bump into Jake in awkward situations, the attraction between them grows, and she starts wondering if he’s right about Colton…
Review:
Most of Jackie Lau’s books are hits for me and Her Favorite Rebound is one of them, although not my favorite in the series. I was off Sierra’s billionaire boyfriend (Colton) in the earlier books and was excited to see who she actually ends up with. Jake was a bit of a hard sell at first. He previous worked for Colton and when he sees Sierra, before learning she’s dating Colton, he falls love at first sight. He warns Sierra off her boyfriend but to does take some time for Sierra to remove those blinders. At times, it seems like he’s pushing her too much, such as showing up at her shop even after she tells him not to. The pressure from Sierra’s family makes sense to why she stays with Colton for as long as she does. When they finally spilt, she decides to rebound with Jake. I really did love the attraction between them and it was certainly steamy. I just felt like Jake kept rushing Sierra when she was really going through pivotal moments in her life. Overall, I did enjoy this book, especially with Colton getting some billionaire comeuppance, and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!
