TORMENTED IN UNIMAGINABLE WAYSComing off torture at the hands of his warlock captors, Munro MacRieve never expected to find his mate, or to lose her just as abruptly. Driven to desperation, the ruthless warrior uses his enemies’ own powers to reunite with her—in the distant past.

STOLEN FROM HER TIME
When a crazed werewolf crashes her wedding, Kereny “Ren” Codrina does what any cunning huntress would do: she captures him. Yet she finds herself softening toward the wounded beast—until he turns the tables and forces her into an incomprehensible future.

CAN A HUMAN AND AN IMMORTAL UNITE IN ORDER TO SURVIVE?
As danger mounts, Munro will do anything to make her undying, even sell his soul to an evil sorceress. But first he must convince his fiery mate that she belongs with him. If seduction means her survival, Munro will use every weapon in his arsenal to possess her—forever.

Review:

How do I write an honest review about this book? Like many people, I’ve been waiting for Munro’s story since he was left with a cliffhanger in MacRieve, which came out in 2013. And equally impatiently waiting the five years between Wicked Abyss and now. This story and my excitement for it have been built up so much in my mind that I’m having a hard time determining if my rating is because of the actual story or just because of how excited I am in finally read it. Honestly, that probably won’t change any time soon and therefore my 5 stars will stand. I’m part of an Immortals After Dark book-club and we were half way through when Munro was announced. During that reread, which I was the first time I reread a lot of the books in years, I noticed how much my views on some of the books changed. It’s possible that might happen with Munro when I reread it in the future but, for now, I’m ready to squeal about how much I love this book.

Ren. I feel like talking about Ren is the most important part of this book. She’s honestly one of the best heroines I’ve read in a long time. Her sense of self is so well developed and so beautifully written. Ren harkens back to my favorite of Kresley’s heroine like Kaderian, Lucia, Chloe. She has a clear purpose in her life and then Munro enters it and disrupts everything. Even as her life changes around, she hold true to herself and that really makes her completely stand out.

Munro. Oh poor Munro. We’ve waited so long for your story and wow, does Kresley put you through the wringer. Choosing between Munro and MacRieve was easy even before I read this book (I’m quite honest in my dislike of MacRieve) but after this book, Munro is up there as one of my top Krelsey heroes. The pain he was suffered through his life, trying to keep his brother together, other losses and now, just when he gets his mate, fate laughs. He has to go through so much in this book and all he really wants to protect and love Ren. It does take a while to him to understand her and to put her desires and wants first but when he does, my heart just melts. He will do anything for her.

After waiting for Ren for a millennium, Munro had denied himself, despite the desire he’d clearly struggled with. Could anything be sexier than a male in need who put a female first?

Munro by Kresley Cole, Chapter 32

This book returns a lot of our old favorites, like Lothaire and Ellie and of course, Nix is behind the scenes, arranging everything. There are so many hints towards the overarching storyline of the series and it makes me want to look into Kresley’s mind and see what she’s got planned. Lingering questions are answered but she drops some bombshells on us too in this book.

Honestly, it was just so great to read this book that I really don’t have more words and just incoherent squeals of delight. Munro is in our hands and we’re able to jump back into the masterfully world of Immortals After Dark. What else is there to say except dive in and hold on!
